Rick WhiteheadI generally like Hood, but I've been disappointed in his play. Maybe he can improve and become more efficient and consistent, but if there isn't substantial improvement in the next year or two, I'd let him go.

Alan MilburnI remember the previous year at butler for him. I saw a highlight of him early in the NCAA season before march madness. Once march rolled around, I filled out my bracket with a duke and butler title game with butler winning just because of how much I instantly liked Gordon from months prior. Then the icing on the cake was when my favorite NBA team drafted him. Regardless if he stays or leaves his season, thanks for all you did for the Jazz, Gordon! Best of luck to you, whatever you do.

Logan James HowlettThey should trade up with their 2 first round picks up for Donovon Mitchell. If that won't work then throw in Alec Burks and some money and keep one of the 2nd round picks. They should try to trade Exum and drop Diaw, and Mack to free up salary to keep Hill and Ingles. Draft Niles Williams Goss or Frank Jackson and let them battle with Donovon Mitchell to be the future pg or replacement for Burks since both play the 1 and 2. This would basically mean the same team but with Donovon Mitchell as our potential pg instead of Exum, and young players like Jackson or Goss replacing Burks. If not.... They could also go all in on a trade for Damien Lillard or a Paul George rental by giving up 2 of either Favors/Hood/Hill, and both 1st round picks depending on whether it is Lillard or PG3 Then build around Hayward, Lillard or George, and Gobert. Go get a veteran like Deron Williams or Patrick Beverly, or Patty Mills. Imagine a possible starting lineup of Hayward, Gobert, Lillard, Hood/Ingles, and Lyles. Or Hayward, Gobert, PG3, Favors, and Exum. With Johnson, Ingles, and either DWills, Beverly, or Mills coming off the bench. Then give Bolomboy some more time and pick up another big in the 2nd round. I also like the thought of just straight up replacing Hill with Bledsoe from Phoenix. They could trade both 1st rd pick for Bledsoe, then let Hill, Diaw, and Mack go. Trade Burks, and the rest of the draft picks away just to free up money for Ingles and Hayward. Maybe even have enough to resign Diaw or another veteran to a one year deal. Hayward, Favors, Gobert, Bledsoe, and Hood/Ingles is a scary starting 5. You still have Johnson, Exum, Hood/Ingles, Lyles, Bolomboy, Neto, Withey, and etc. coming off the bench.

Gordon Hayward had career-highs in points (21.9), rebounds (5.4) and free throw percentage (84%) to go along with 3.5 assists and 1 steal per game this season.

Gordon made his first All-Star appearance and led us to the second round of the Playoffs for the first time since 2010.

Conor ScanlonIn all honesty, Gordon is a good player, but he isn't dominate, he gets his points ratherly quietly on the floor, he's a system player. If we lose Hayward this off-season, he can just be replaced by another scorer (Hood, for example who I think can prove to be a better scorer than Hayward because he's a lot more confident) who fits the system. Gobert is definitely the more impactful player and who the jazz should build around. Losing Hayward I think will be similar to when the grizzlies lost Rudy Gay. Certainly we'll miss his talent, but he isnt going to lead the jazz to a championship, and his production can be replaced.

Rick WhiteheadHayward stepped up his game last year. I was especially pleased to see his shooting percentage (efficiency) rise. I think, overall, Gobert had a bigger impact on the team, but Hayward was a big part as well. I hope he stays and I hope the Jazz can get a few players to fill needed gaps so the Utah Jazz can take the next step next year.

Aaron WestbroekI hope Hayward takes into consideration who Boston & Miami really are. They have both traded away superstars at the drop of a hat. They will not respect him & give him a second thought. That will drop his value for the rest of his career.

Avatar

Matt JamesI will be bitter if Hayward chooses to leave the Jazz, while it is entirely his own decision, in my opinion he was gifted a franchise and fanbase that allowed his incremental development over the course of 7 years. Gordon Hayward is a great player, but his expectations and media pressure will skyrocket in a major market like Boston. He is a man that likes to keep things close, that won't happen in Boston, the media won't babysit your feeling after a 8 pt, 3/11 lackluster performance like he tends to put up once a week. Hayward is coddled in Utah, the media stays off his back and he lives (primarily) free of harsh criticism from major media.

5 days ago   ·  2
Avatar

Jeff GeddesUtah probably won't give Hayward a championship. Utah will never be the place to be. But what Utah can give Hayward is loyalty, respect, and a great future. I don't blame anyone for ring chasing. Not even KD. But If Hayward stays. He will have a very happy and easy life in Utah till the the day he dies, the miller family will make sure of that.

Joe WoodardGordon isn't going anywhere! He has a higher ceiling in Utah and more minutes! He started his family here, and bought his first home here! He found his big man(Gobert) He isn't going to leave without seeing what his hard work actually accomplishes! This past year they all grew and did it the right way! And, they will continue to grow and will be nasty when they all learn how to be men and still being on the same team! Kinda like Stockton to Malone!
